You will be part of a team dealing with several chemical legislations (Biocidal Products Regulation, Plant Protection Products Regulation, REACH, etc.) and with expertise in several domains (chemistry, toxicology, environmental fate, ecotoxicology, etc.). In your role as efficacy expert, you will:
Analyse and summarise efficacy studies in view of regulatory submissions for biocidal active substances and products in the EU
Provide specialist advice on efficacy requirements for biocides to clients and colleagues
Assist with the preparation of regulatory dossiers for biocides
Liaise with test facilities and monitoring efficacy studies
Address questions from regulatory authorities
Remain constantly aware of new guidance and developments in the field of efficacy for biocides
Minimum qualifications for this position include:
A relevant Bachelor's or Master’s degree (Microbiology, Biology, Biochemistry, Bioscience engineering, ...)
Excellent technical knowledge of microbiology (e.g. taxonomic identification, biological properties, induction of resistance, ...) and/or entomology
Ability to evaluate scientific literature and critically interpret and summarize data
Ability to communicate and liaise effectively with colleagues, clients and authorities
Adaptability and analytical problem-solving skills
Eager to learn about chemical regulatory frameworks, such as the Biocidal Products Regulation
Fluent in English
First experiences with one or more of the following points are considered beneficial:
Hands-on experience with efficacy testing for disinfectants, preservatives, insecticides or repellents
Practical knowledge of efficacy testing standards e.g. EN, OECD, IBRG
Reporting of efficacy and resistance data for biocides
Monitoring efficacy studies
Knowledge of the requirements and procedures outlined in the Biocidal Products Regulation
Experience with microbials in fertilisers, biostimulants and/or crop protection products
A PhD in a relevant field
A good command of other European languages (Dutch, French, ...)
